2010 6th Grade Competition
2010 is the first year that Georgia will have a separate Future City Competition for sixth grade students. If you wish to include a 6th grade team in the competition, please read the guidelines provided.
- Any school registered in the 2010 Georgia Regional Future City Competition may choose to also enter 6th Grade team(s) in the new 6th Grade Competition.
- Each school may choose to send up to three3 6th Grade Teams to the Regional Competition. (If your school has additional 6th grade teams you wish to send to competition, please contact Dawn Ramsey at 770-713-7337.)
- All 6th Grade Teams will compete against other 6th Grade Teams in the special 6th Grade Competition.
- The 6th Grade Competition will follow the same rules and processes as the regular Georgia Regional Future City Competition. Therefore the Teacher’s Handbook, Student Handbooks, Mentor Training Materials, etc. can all be used for 6th Grade Teams as well as the 7th and 8th Grade Teams.
- 6th Grade Teams cannot compete in the regular Georgia Regional Competition.
- 6th Grade Teams will be eligible for 6th Grade Competition Special Awards.
- All 6th Grade Teams will compete against the other 6th Grade Teams for first through 3 place recognition.
In October, Teacher Sponsors from all registered schools will be asked to submit preliminary Team Registration Information. At that time, 6th Grade Team information will also be collected.
